YAY! i have finally left Cairns. I am now on the sunshine coast in australia but its not sunshining. The ocean temp is warmer than the air temp- how silly is that!?

eeeek. Its been a month and a half. how crazy is that?
I love the travelling thing. I know that its so easy just not to do it because home is safe and comfertable, but you all have to.
Fiji was amazing.
Snorkeling, beaches, dancing, kava, palm trees, fire throwing and meeting SOOOOOO many cool people.
New Zealand was a lot like canada. Lots of sheep.
Some really good parties. More dancing. Some surfing. And black water rafting. And SKYDIVING (which was the best thing i've ever done).
Austrailia has been loads of fun so far. I'm living in this cute little house in Cairns with chloe, calvin, dylan and these two crazy (but AWESOME canadian girls). I have a job as a drink waitress at this trendy restaurant on the Esplanade.
Its almost too hot to go out during the day....
so life usually consists of drinking until it gets light out and then sleeping until it gets dark out.

So the last couple of days totally flew by. But i couldn't wait to get back to the hostel to check my email.
The night before we went to beachcomber, we played more drinking games(cards seem to be really popular on this side of the world) and then went out with a bunch of people from the hostel. YAY! legal bar-going for the first time! It was funny how dancing is the same all around the world. A little bit skanky and always a good time.
i just got back from beach comber island. it was absolutely out of this world. Turquoise water, white sand, palm trees. we stayed in a dorm room with 84 other people- kind of crazy. The people here are tons of fun- the staff and the travelers. So far, I"m the youngest traveller that i've met. Most people are 23yrs/24yrs and a whole lot older. They all seem to go after university instead of before.
I went snorkeling the last three days. I've never been snorkeling and it was amazing. We saw baracudas, stingrays, and the most beautiful fish that you can imagine. My favorites were the ones that loooked like parrots.
Yesterday, we went fishing (also for my first time ever). And i caught a fish.. shhh i put it back.
Although the first night wasn't toooo impressive, last night was a big party. It was kind of dangerous because you dont have to pay for drinks with cash, you just charge it to your room. And we danced on a sand dance floor to live fijian reggae. i wish i could send the music home.
Today we came back to nadi from beach comber. I'm burnt to a crisp and i've been putting on spf 30 every couple of hours. Tomorrow we go to lami to stay with chloes family.
Anyways, i should go join the fun thats going on out there. miss thoughts and love. |

YUCK. Somehow, I contracted Bronchitis which consists of phlegm and mucus.
Some up sides: Getting the night off work, renting Desperate Housewives and eating a big bag of five cent candies.
Bronchitis means i've taken 3 weeks off from going out to the bars. Next thursday will be the end of the bar-fast, so if anyone is out, come visit me at legends.
Travel plans are well under way. I've actually started buying things to take with me and I've made a TO DO list that keeps getting longer and longer.
So, these pictures are from forever ago. From back in may. AWWW good times at Vic High. I'm pretty sure that soon, I will have memories of Vic High like I have memories of South Park.

wow. It has been a really long time.
This summer flew by- I can't beleive its almost october.
Although, i guess my summer's not really over until next september because that's when i'll be going back to school. Until then, i'm working and traveling. Traveling around the world starting on december 30th. OOO.
Mixed feelings on that. I mean, i am SO excited- Chloe and i do happy dances when we think about it. But i am also terrified. I've never lived without my family and i've never been off the continent. And now i'm going to live without my family and across the pacific ocean. HOLY shit.
Anyways, I just wanted to update about what i did this summer. Which was basically nothing. I made a lot of money and i got dolled up to party. I didn't take very many pictures- weird. My HOrnby trip was the only excursion that was sufficiently documented. Oh, and a day trip to sooke potholes, but those pictures are X-rated/banned from ever appearing on LJ.

This year has gone by incredibly fast. I cant believe that grad is on tuesday. TUESDAy. It's just insane that we've had all these plans for grad: shoes, hair, makeup, dresses, new dresses, limos, after parties, dennys, school sleeping... etc and then its all happening in what, 5 days?
So I'm sure that this is old news but you probably havn't seen the actual footage. It still blows my mind.

SwoOn. I was hyperventailating. Still kind of am.
I don't know why people think that he's a jerk. He was okay with posing in pictures with multiple teenyboppers. And he's much more cute in real life than on the show.
This happened a really long time ago. Maybe a month? I didn't get the picture until this week or i would have posted it the same night.
How did it happen you ask. Well, he asked my sister and I to come hang out..
And by that i mean we stocked him. We were supposed to go to dance class but we got a tip and drove to cadbro bay instead. You would have done the same. Admitt it.
So CaMpiNG. I'm happy that i went, because it was definetly up in the air more than once the monring that we left. So thank you to the people that made it work/were supportive when there was no car (and a bit of a melt down on my part). Even though the weather sucked, it was basically a big partay.
